Daphne's Art Showing!

Daphne's artwork was chosen to represent Foothills 1st and 2nd grades at the PUSD art show today (there were only 2 pieces chosen from each school in the district!!) It came as no surprise that our future little Rachael Ray's piece was titled 'Sweet Treat's". I can't wait to add this new masterpiece to our personal art gallery!!

a treat for daddy

Daddy had to work a loooong day today (the G1 launches tomorrow ya know:) So Eve made him a 'cloud cake' YUMMY!!!

Sweet Slumber

So I was recently asked (for the 10 billionth time) "so is this baby going to sleep in your bed too???" I had to laugh as I thought back to how defensive that question used to make me feel. Explaining the benefits of co-sleeping, defending my decision to do it.

Now- I immediately thought of this picture.....and then the 100 more I have like it spanning the last 2 years. I simply replied "Yep!"

That very night, as Craig and I were dozing off, Eve stumbled into our room and said pitifully "daddy help me, I'm sick" (in the cutest stuffy nose voice you can imagine) Craig scooped her up and cradled her in his arm where she still fits perfectly and snuggled in, whispering in her ear. I rested my head against his other shoulder and faded into sleep.

Perfect. Safe. Quiet. Loved.

Will Jude lay in the same spot???? Of course he will. We wouldn't have it any other way.

Oh boy Oh boy!!

Well it's official! We found out that we're having a BOY! I was honestly completely shocked!!!! Craig and I are thrilled! I have suddenly taken to watching every little boy that I see at Target or the girl's school. Here are my initial observations......they make a lot of noise. Not talking noise- just sounds. I wonder how this will mix in with the girls who engage in constant chatter. I have visions of being in the car with 3 girls talking simultaneously and an under currant of airplane noises. My second observation......boy clothes are NOT as fun/cute/plentiful as girls. This is karma for me rolling my eyes all that time I worked in retail and heard mom's complaining abut the lack of clothes for boys. I always thought "they're boys.....who cares what they wear?!?" Well- now I care! And I stand corrected!!!! If you're not into sports, monster trucks, fishing or Noah's Arc type animals- good like finding something to dress your son in! So- I've been creating onesies, blankets, and various 'snugglies' for my little guy- and I've decided that I need to design a line of clothes for boys- as soon as I get some time:)

BTW-our little guy's name is Jude. We love the Beatles, my great-great grandfather happened to be named Jude, and Saint Jude is that patron saint of impossible things. Couldn't be a more fitting name for our son if you ask me:)

my new obsession (ie the craft project driving Craig Crazy right now)

Hello- I'm Angela and I'm addicted to making pillow case dresses.

I figure if the Von Trapp family can roam about town in drapes Maria made into play clothes MY girls can SURELY wear dresses made of pillowcases!!!!

The Big Day!

So we are about 12 hours from finally finding out if we're having a girl or a boy. I've gone through a range of emotions that I didn't experience with the girls- I suppose because this is our last. As cheesy as it sounds- all I really care about is the baby being healthy. That's it. Craig told me tonight that all he really cares about is the baby being healthy- and I believe him. I've let people's comments get to me..... comments about "finally giving Craig a son" and "you know he'll be devastated if it's not a boy"....funny how quickly we revert to the thinking of the Middle Ages! Ok King Henry! I'll give you a son! Like it's up to me! Please don't behead me if I produce another girl! Thank God Craig is the kind of man who really DOESN'T care! It will be so nice to know and just enjoy the rest of this pregnancy!

We put the girls to bed early and decided to rent a movie (wahoo! date night!) Craig came home with 'Baby Mama' in honor of tomorrow. Seriously- I love this man!

Hello.........

So- as an Aquarius I am supposed to be technically savvy. Unfortunately this is the only trait of my sign that I fail at miserably. But I am willing to learn and creating this blog will help me out of my comfort zone (I vow here to ask Criag for as little help as possible as I begin this adventure:)

I was inspired to blog by an amazing woman named Nie Nie. (PLEASE visit her blog at nieniedialogues.blogspot.com/) Reading her blog helped me realize that even if no one ever reads this but me (well, and my sister obviously, because she should be enthralled with my day to day life) blogging will help me slow down and appreciate every minute of this amazing life that I am living. And it is Amazing! And when it comes right down to it.....what I'm searching for is living in the Now and Zen
